Some of Our Recent 1st

So many 1st here lately...makes me wonder what other 1st have I already forgotten. Of course with your first child everything is new and exciting!

1st golf game:

1st swim!

Had to try out the new life jacket!

Loved the water!

1st trip out on the lake!

Loved the boat ride-hated the lake water!

1st discovered his feet

My entertainment in the morning to watch him play with his feet. I'm sure in a day or two he will be putting them in his mouth along with everything else.

1st taste of cereal

Hayden's 1st attemt to eat this stuff they call real food. I don't think cereal should count as real food. When I licked it off my finger one time it reminded me of paste we would eat in elementary school. YUCK!!! But Hayden goes to town on that stuff and is getting better about leaving it in his mouth. Of course your kid is always the cutest & the smartest right? So my little Hayden is so smart, he grabs the spoon and helps you make to to his mouth...sometimes his nose or sometimes just through his fingers. That makes feeding him so much fun!!! I'm sure I can't wait until he tastes something he doesn't like and spits it back out at me.

I'm loving listening to Hayden play with his voice. He has MMMMMMMAAAAA down really well. I just know any minute he will bust out with Mama or even Mommy!!! I just know it! One day I listened to him forever it seemed like. Then he had to leave for the sitter & I just cried because I knew at any minute he would say my name & I would miss it. But the sitter promised me she would not tell me any of Hayden's true 1st until I told her I witnessed it myself. So it will all be his 1st to me!!!

1st sunflower field

He didn't know what to think at 1st but then he had fun with the flowers.

We...I mean I...have witnessed even the 1st sleepless night. I tried every method known to man...put him in his swing, put him in his carrier, laid him on my chest, even drove around for 1 1/2 hours one night. That was so fun...as soon as I put the pickup in park...he woke up! So I gave up on that idea! Then finally Todd got up, laid him in his bed and wrapped him tight in his blanket...out like a light. Go figure!!!

Hayden had his 1st ear infection and stopped up nose. I think this has lead to our 1st sleepless night! I'm so thankful that Hayden will put anything in his mouth right now because it helps him take his medicine better. One day I'll be screaming, "Get that out of your mouth" but for now...it's ok!!!
1st Football Game

Real interested in that, can you tell?

1st Rodeo

We love our friend J. Mark who is a clown in more ways than one...

I'm loving every one of Hayden's 1st!!!

A Year of Change

It has been a year of change for our house hold!

It was September 23 when we discovered that we were finally pregnant! We have had so much heartbreak when it comes to starting our family. So deep down...I knew this was it. I still struggled with lots of doubt but deep down I knew this was really happening for us. So on April 16, 2009 we welcomed Hayden to our lives. Besides my wedding day, this was the happiest day of my life. My "Boys" are my life. I can't imagine not having Hayden now that he is here. He helps make our lives complete. Being a Mommy is my #1 job. Nothing comes before Hayden these days!!!

They say having a baby changes everything. That's the case in our house for sure. No more going to bed at 9 p.m. and sleeping all night. No more coming in from a long hard day to just sit on the couch and rest! It's an evening of meeting Hayden's needs and a night filled with ups & downs for a mid night feeding.

Little did I know that having Hayden would change everything...including my job. I always saw myself with Cal Farley's until I retired. That was the plan before Hayden. But that changed on August 5, I started a new job. I must say, that is the best move I have made in awhile. I made the change for Hayden...so I thought. But this new job has been an absolute blessing to me. The ladies that I work with are just as amazing as my friends from Cal Farley's. So this job change has benefited me so much more than just for Hayden. It gives me time to myself through the day. I get to come home for lunch to do housework so that when Hayden gets home, I can devote my time to him instead of the housework.

I can't push rewind with Hayden and relive what I've missed. So if I'm going to be a working Mom, this is the way to do it!!!
Everything happens for a reason!!!
